October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To participate, JROTC is holding many fundraisers for the Pike County Breast Cancer Association.

1.)        There will be a “Men in Pink” Coin Drive held throughout the month.  A pink coin bucket will be placed in each of the classrooms, media center, and office so students, faculty, and family members may donate spare change toward the cause.

2.)        There will also be a “Pink Tree” Fundraiser where students and faculty may donate $2.00 to have their name written on a pink ribbon and tied to the tree in the break area for the month. For $5.00, have your name written on a Breast Cancer ribbon on the Bulletin Board in the cafeteria. To donate, see cadets in the Media Center during break, or Sergeant Major Johnson in the JROTC Building throughout the day.

3.)        JROTC Cadets will be selling World’s Finest Chocolate bars during the last week of October. All profits will be donated toward the Pike County Breast Cancer Association for Breast Cancer research.

Global Scholar Tests will be administered during 2nd block on October 18th and 19th for the reading portion of the exam, then 2nd block October 25th and 26th for the math portion of the exam.  All students should bring their Chromebooks fully charged for each day of testing.

We will have SCAN training for our 9th graders on October 24th during 2rd, 3rd, and 4th blocks in their world history class.
